The Nampa Schools Foundation has awarded $17,250 in scholarships to 11 seniors graduating from Nampa School District high schools in 2018.

The mission of the Nampa Schools Foundation is to engender patron support and general financial resources that will enrich the quality of education, expand learning opportunities for students and teachers, and bring the community together in support of the Nampa School District.

Since 1992, the foundation has awarded more than $525,000 in scholarships to deserving students. Other major projects include teacher grants and a fundraising golf scramble.

The Vern Carpenter Scholarship, which was created earlier this year, is awared to a student attending Northwest Nazarene University. Debanhi Aguirre-Jimenez of Nampa High School is the first-time winner.
